HERAT

HERAT

To keep my passion alive from all my experiences combined and four years of teaching gave me confidence to start a brand called "HERAT".  I renovated the ground floor of my 100-year-old vintage house to a luxurious design store showcasing & selling handmade Jewellery, clothing, vintage furniture and artefacts etc.

Concept of HEART is inspired from my own journey. HERAT was an outstanding experience to the opulent society of Neemuch.

For HERAT, I travelled insider streets of various town and villages of Rajasthan.

Each product I kept at the store has a story. A story of passion, choice, and my individual style, which makes me feel nostalgic related to my travels and times, where I explored antique shops, workshops, artisans places and museums.

Prominently I always followed vintage style with a tinge of modernism. The reason I always enjoyed vintage is the excitement of hunt something unique or real led me to the world of “VINTAGE” an unparalleled treasure hunt. The amazing part is that you never know what you will get. Another pretext for my vintage preference is to get involved in our history somehow or the obsession for nostalgia as something vintage becomes the expression of olden times.

I always look at the old flea bazaars rather than bright flourished markets. I wished every time to go to warm pleasant rooftops more than banged evening parties. And I always loved the cozy gleam of candles rather than bright led of downtowns.

Each time this fond made me to think ‘why this happened, who made this, the materials, the craftsmen & the techniques’. When we use or see a vintage piece which is rare to find, we believe that we carry the history. Vintage guarantee the one of a kind that you cannot find in the factories which indeed points to the authenticity.

It was really a journey to recognize what my souls want actually. It always been a big surprise to every person who visited the store every time and eventually it came out the way I imagined it would be ever. It's not a very big store nor very compact but you know I kept it like each corner of the store makes you feel surprised like its name ‘Herat’ and it's a very cozy litter with so many antiques and vintage products where you can see distress furniture to vintage mirrors, artifacts, lamps and candles.

There was a very fine range of pottery, crockery, ceramics, home and kitchen wear, stunning bedcovers, cushion covers and so on.

When I talk about the story of the name ‘HERAT’ which suddenly came in my mind when I was thinking about my brand's name for a month. Certainly, the name reflects the magical feel all around which typically derived from the name “hairatangez” (an amazing feeling) which is quite enough to give you goosebumps a very realistic way to frame my imagination into beautiful stylized people or places.

Thanks!!
